Our Program
Our Curriculum
Our program follows the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s basic principles of developmentally appropriate practice (NAEYC Basic Principles DAP) while using The Creative Curriculum® to provide a balance of teacher directed and child centered activities.
The Creative Curriculum® philosophy is that young children learn best through doing and is built on the belief that all children learn through active exploration.
The primary goal of The Creative Curriculum® is to foster independence, self-confidence, and to develop inquisitive and enthusiastic learners with theme-based lessons. We plan curriculum and design each environment using eight different interest areas or centers: Dramatic Play, Literacy and Language, Music and Movement, Fine Motor, Outdoor Play, Science and Math, Blocks, and Art.
Developing the whole Child
Our Curriculum identifies goals in all areas of development: social/emotional, cognitive, physical, language and literacy. The Creative Curriculum® assessment focuses on age appropriate objectives for early learning and school success aligned with state standards. These objectives help teachers to determine what students currently know and next steps for each child.
